I hope my computer doesn't explode from the hate and teh stoopid.
Jim DeMint is running around saying "This is not some kind of radical right-wing group,” Senator Jim DeMint, Republican of South Carolina, said in an interview as dozens of people streamed by him. “I just hope the Congress, the Senate and the president recognize that people are afraid of what’s going on.”
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/13/us/politics/13protestweb.html?scp=3&sq=jim%20demint&st=SearchI intend to make copies of the racist signs and those that threaten insurrection. Most of them are some kind of crazy, but I am going to pick out the most vile.
I am going to make a "booklet" of them, and make an attempt to see DeMint and Lindsey Graham personally. They are so busy being on teevee that I'm not sure how to catch them. I want to ask them face to face if this is what they condone.
Do they condone racism?
Do they condone violent overthrow of the government?
How do you intend to control the people who do think in these terms? You have started this parade, and what will you do if it gets out of hand? Is your purpose for it to get out of hand, and is that the only way you intend to advance your arguments about what is being proposed in Congress?
Whatever legitimate arguments people have about the policies that are being introduced are being lost in lies and inane arguments. If the government is so oppressive now that you are in favor of delegitimizing it, then resign your seat now because you no longer deserve to be part of that government.
As a Senator from SC, I would expect you to concern yourself with the entire welfare of the state. I have heard nothing from you about bringing jobs to our state to bring down the double digit employment numbers. I have heard nothing from you about starting training programs to give people skills that will shift them to jobs that are useful instead of ones that are no longer needed.
I'm going to arrange all this in some concise manner. I doubt if they will care, but I want them to know that somebody is paying attention. I might get a petition going, and give them hopefully a lot of names of people who don't subscribe to his ideology, but that he still has a duty to represent.
Then I will go talk to a rock, and probably get a better response.
