We should do now what Clinton should have done the day he opened the trade floodgates with China, "we will buy your products but you must buy from us also".

This trade imbalance we have with China enabled the debt bubble that has crippled our economy. If China wants a trade war we should give it to them.

Of course, in 1973, nobody thought there would be any malicious intent - on either side.

Reagan sold them anti-missile guidance systems in 1981... what was it, the Lorall company? Meh, it was nearly 30 years ago and nobody has blown anybody else up since then...

But China has played unfairly, as a 'trade partner', and is the antisocial misfit of the "community".

As for "free trade", it's only free when those who profit the most from it want it. They want things both ways; when they might lose a penny, oh then it has to be restricted.
