Attempt To Outlaw The Pill In Florida
http://crooksandliars.com/susie-madrak/anti-abortion-group-announces-drive-o

TALLAHASSEE -- A nationwide anti-abortion group launched an effort in Florida Friday to outlaw all abortions and certain types of birth control, including oral contraceptives and the morning-after pill.

The religion-infused movement, called "Personhood Florida," would define conception in Florida's constitution at the "biological beginnings," supporters said -- when the sperm meets the egg. The group filed its amendment today but the exact ballot language is still being worked out, said Secretary of State Spokeswoman Jennifer Krell-Davis.

The amendment seeks to outlaw all abortions, even in cases of rape and incest. Also criminalized: the morning-after pill and oral contraceptives taken by women, known as the pill. "There are some (birth control) methods that kill a child," said Pat McEwan, who is leading the Personhood Florida group.

The amendment faces extremely long odds. First, supporters must gather 676,811 signatures to make the ballot -- by Feb. 1, to go before voters in 2010.

5. Well, humanity's numbers are so precariously down
It's perfectly understandable why the most wasteful nation on the face of the planet should have more people.

So, will they be locking up all the fertile women once a month to make sure they don't spontaneously abort a fertilized egg?

6. We. Told. You. So.
For years, feminists have been trying to get people to wake up about the real goals of these people.

8. Good, FL is finally moving to the left
If there is one thing I have learned it is that adults do things that harm others and they should have less choices - what you eat can cost me more so it should be banned, smoking around other adults is a sin and costs others money so we take away that choice, homeschooling one's own child is purely evil and does not give others enough control over your child so we need to remove that choice, guns...etc

Your body does not mean your choice if someone else does not like it and they can show how something you do somehow, someway, affects others.

Punish the sinners and praise our money god, we will yet convert all to our religion of control and cash :)

9. They have never been 'anti-abortion'. They are anti-sex.......
These people are horrified at the thought of sexually active women, and want to put a patriarchal stop to it.

If they were really anti-abortion, they would be in favor of any form of birth control available, and be lobbying for better, easier to use, more effective forms of birth control.

It drives me nuts that this simple contradiction in the logic of self-proclaimed opponents of abortion continues to get ignored.
