Isn't it obvious?
The republicans are not going to vote for anything the dems propose. Period. We need to use reconciliation, now, pass the bill with a public option the way we want it to work, and tell the republicans to kiss our ass! Do you have ay doubt that they would do it? They did it on the tax cuts for the rich.

They cannot accept any dem victory except one where they are totally against it.

So, why even talk to the whiners?

They lie!

1. They will take every compromise and concession they can get,
yet they have no intention of negotiating in good faith and in the end they will all vote against any bill, along with some Democrats.

3. It's obvious alright, they're not making those concessions to win over the Republicans. nt

4. That would require the Dems to man-up, and stop acting like the Repubs girlfriend.
I don't see it happening.

5. Why settle for public option? Go straight for single payer. The Admin
would need to hammer each and every potential 'no' vote until they get a 'yes' out of them. But THEY SHOULD BE DOING THAT ANYWAY! That's how politics works. Do that and Obama would be a hero. Sure the RW would cry alligator tears and make impotent threats of revolt - THEY ARE GOING TO DO THAT ANYWAY NO MATTER WHAT IS ON THE TABLE. Obama has the opportunity to sit next to FDR and LBJ at the table of greatness. But it looks like Hoover may end up being more his speed, which is sad on so many levels for every citizen.
