How I missed the 2 million man teabagging flash mob today

.....................

I wanted to provide some perspective about the difference between thirty thousand people and one million people. For reference, the teabaggers were mostly in front of the Capitol and around the Capitol's reflecting pool. For anyone not familiar with DC, they were directly to the east of 3rd Street in Washington.
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=3rd+st+nw+%26+Madison+dr+NW,+washington,+dc&sll=38.88907,-77.013012&sspn=0.00704,0.013937&ie=UTF8&ll=38.889571,-77.013677&spn=0.00704,0.013937&t=h&z=17

For reference, I crossed 3rd Street and took a picture facing west from the Capitol at the Washington Monument, similar to some of the crowd shots we'd seen after the inauguration. Here's the difference between the teabaggers' protest today vs. President Obama's inaguration crowd, which included anywhere from 1 million to 1.5 million people. So, what happened to all that grassroots anger?

5. while the right wing droids were in DC, we went to a great Town Hall w/Barney Frnk
This Saturday, while the right wing droids were in DC, we went to a great Town Hall meeting hosted by Barney Frank where health care was discussed in a meaningful way. Overwhelming support for HR 676 medicare for all - But ground swell support for health care reform (for the second time in 10 days in Boston area - 2800 people packed Somerville High School to tell Senator Kerry they support health care reform on AUG 31st and Labor Day rally of thousands on Boston Common) - was not "news".

Yet Astroturf right wing grassroots demos are news?

We can get the truth out... Write to npr, NY Times? anyone and ask the media why they are focusing on the fringe and keeping the real debate off air?

video and links at my blog http://norahdooley.blogspot.com/

We have to stop talking to each other and move out into the big scary world - We can make a difference if we pass it on, everywhere..."Right wing nut cases no longer dominate debate- real people want real health care reform, now! Single payer - medicare for all -

We need to raise the stakes!

6. thanks to that poster
What a good idea.

It makes me sick that the media plays up their protest when they wouldn't even acknowledge years and years of ours. But oh--a few nutcase rightwingers head to Washington and not only do they cover it on all networks and cable shows, they exaggerate the numbers of people who were there.

Thus are the ways of right wing media in America.
