Iraqi citizens blogs. With links.
Many folks seem to know about Riverbend.: http://riverbendblog.blogspot.com/

Here is another link, to a teenage girl who blogged since 2004 from under the bombs,
and who has since written a book.

Blog: http://livesstrong.blogspot.com/

Be sure to check out right side for many other Iraqi blogs, including her mother's.

And this cool book site:

I consider this important reading and have been following Riverbend since 2004.

2. This heart rending sentence broke my heart:
How is it that a border no one can see or touch stands between car bombs, militias, death squads and… peace, safety?

from Riverbend's current page, the blog dated Thursday, September 06, 2007
where she describes what it is like to leave her home and country for safety in Syria.

Can you imagine having to do that?
And if you did that, knowing dozens of your relatives and friends and other people you know were
trapped in the danger zone?

The people of the Middle East countries are no different than we are. They watch tv, drive cars, shop at malls, they think and feel and bleed just as we do.
And we pay the taxes that drive her from her country.

Damn....kleenex time.
