No babes, teabaggers are doomed.
After careful and tedious examination of all the teabagger pics and vids I could find, I only found one sort of hottie. Ipso facto this teabagger movement is irrelevant.

The conservative author P. J. O'Rourke advanced "The Babe Theory of Political Movements" and it has yet to be disproven.

It's just that beautiful women are always on the cutting edge of social trends. Remember how many beautiful women were in the anti-war movement twenty years ago? In the yoga classes fifteen years ago? At the discos ten years ago? On Wall Street five years ago? Where the beautiful women are is where the country is headed.

7. More like the magnetic appeal of attractive women...
Where the hotties go the people shall follow. What a bunch of droolers we are... sigh.

14. O.K. I know I should really stay out of this but, like the moth to the flame
Are you saying that men shouldn't be attracted to good looking women? I'm sorry, but to repeat an overused cliche, I'm a lesbian trapped in a male body and I have no more choice in this matter than gay people do. I love women, I have all their albums!

For what it's worth, I'm 58 and my wife of 20+ years is 72. She well past the "hot" stage of her life and I'm getting there quickly also. I still adore her but if you don't think I find the 32 year old redhead down the street attractive, I think you may be living in a fantasy.

I like art too. I do not limit my appreciation to one artist.

10. ok but if it works..
they are trying to use this on Fox News but the women on Fox are so plastic and vacuous. The truly beautiful women are the ones with the hearts and minds.. it's not just about the bodies.

13. and... women are just beautiful.
Edited on Sun Sep-13-09 08:16 PM by Voice for Peace
human beings by nature are attracted to beauty.
womankind is beautiful.
(of course there are exceptions. nastiness drains the beauty out)
still, if a beautiful -- authentically beautiful -- woman is
in the forefront of a cause, people are attracted to it.

5. While many women may want the man who earns more, they still want men who are
better thinkers and lovers. Those would be the liberal progressives. They are just the best lovers. Period.

11. If you don't like my "tongue in cheek" theory,
perhaps you should consider the obvious corollary. There's not very many young people in general with the teabaggers. So they are doomed.

12. The GOP has lost the youth vote decisively. The GOP is doomed.
And since women are on average more liberal than men that is doubly so with regards to young female voters.

She pretty much rallied the teabaggers, et. al. single-handedly.

19. How about the Hot Man Theory of Political Movements?
There are no hot men at any of those rallies either.

Do we have to be so sexist to make the simple point that young, attractive PEOPLE (of either gender) don't show up to old-racist-foggie rallies?

29. JFK/Nixon disproves the "Hot Man"
1960
Democrat: Kennedy
total 49.9
men 52
women 49

Republican: Nixon
total 49.8
men 48
women 51

More women voted for Nixon than JFK. Guess they weren't swayed by his tailored suits and charisma.

Of course, that was 50 years ago... if JFK Jr. were alive today and ran, the results might be different. Sometimes women can be as superficial as men.

23. The older he gets, the farther back in the past he is living.
O'Rourke hasn't been either relevant or funny since he left The Harvard Lampoon, and that was over thirty years ago.

28. In a book published in 1991, that was a collection of earlier articles
so 1989 is quite likely, yes.
