(I just got this by email from Susan Lindauer.)
ODE TO JOE WILSON A Member of Congress, Joe Wilson by name, (Who never was wedded to Valerie Plame), From South Carolina , which gave us such features, As sad country music, and lunatic preachers, Where neo-confederates mull their defeats, And klansmen burn crosses, while wearing their sheets, O South Carolina ! The first to secede!
You gave us Joe Wilson, whose mind-numbing screed, Did explode from his mouth, at the volume of thunder, ‘Tis not every day that so massive a blunder, Appears all at once on the screens of TVs, Where everyone hears it! Everyone sees!
You thought that your outburst was oh, so inspired, Not unlike the shots at Fort Sumter were fired, O Congressman Wilson! If you seek the truth, Here it is: you are vulgar, a boor, and uncouth.
Your mouth, opposition with which you would crush, Is as large, and as vile, as the belly of Rush!
You wanted attention, and glory, and fame, Crawl back now, to South Carolina in shame.
Go out to the woodshed, prepare for a whup.
The President’s speaking. Sit down and shut up. © 2009 lynxtales
