The non-coverage of Iraq War and RNC protests despite OCEANS of humanity -
served to stifle liberal protest since people know in advance that they could hold hands from coast to coast and still not get the airtime of 12 teabaggers in Sheboygan.

The media has to be SHAMED into covering reality. This thread in GDP says that 63% think that news stories are often inaccurate.

I'm surprised how LOW that figure is, not how high it is. Not only do I not WATCH television news the way I used to, I find myself not even going to MSM websites as much as I used to. The Washington Post DISGUSTED me with their plan to sell access to politicians and journalists for 25K a pop at private dinner parties. If that is the ethos from the top, why would I trust anything in that rag, knowing how willing they are to sell their credibility? Katherine Graham, who stood up to the Nixon regime with great personal courage, should be haunting people vigorously for defiling her legacy.

On a side note, NPR had an interesting story the other day about how Italy is descending into their own "Idiocracy" due to Berlesconi owning most of the private news channels and controlling the government ones. Some woman was quoted as saying that the Italian people were becoming "banal and stupid" due to their exposure to the horrible programming. An Italian documentary maker can't get an ad for his film about this topic placed on any channel. It's a real race to the bottom around the world due to media consolidation and the repudiation of the basic tenets of "journalism".

If and when we find credible sources, we should do all we can to support and promote them, even when they write things we would prefer not to read and even when they broadcast things we would prefer not to hear.
