2. If I had a dime for every time I heard a woman say "I'm a gay man trapped in a woman's body..."
I'd have, um, nothing.

I'm not a lesbian (trapped or otherwise), but when I hear a guy say that, I just figure he's an ass.

I'm a gay man 'trapped' in a woman's body. I'd say I'm about on the Eddie Izzard level of seriousness there (Brit comedian who crossdresses and calls himself a "male tomboy"). Just with the genders flipped. Of course, mine is a little off-kilter because I like girls too...but still. I don't identify with straight women even the tiniest bit.

71. Every little bit helps!
However, I interpreted the OP to be referring specifically to straight men describing their own heterosexuality by making a sardonic joke about lesbians.

When the phrase is an accurate description of one's identity, I think that the tone, intent, and impact of the statement are very different.

because it is a serious issue

this comment, a lesbian in man body, is made at expense of lesbian and transgender by a stupid male that thinks it cute.

on transgender issues, you are right. i dont have a lot of knowledge or experience and stay out of discussion and dont have opinion because of my ignorance.

on issues of males being assholes, i have a lot of first hand knowledge and experience.

that it is a male truly saying that he is male in female body.... yet a lesbian female.

of course i am famaliar with gender identity. i dont believe this is what this op is about nor the thread.

though

i guess we can all pretend otherwise.

34. You Should Probably Just Apologize For Your Error and Move On Instead Of Digging a Hole.
What the OP is or is not about is irrelevant to what you said. You said "if she is in a mans body he is not a she".

If a person self-identifies as a woman, she is to be considered a "she", no matter what biological sex she is. Whether or not YOU believe the hypothetical person in the OP identifies as female is irrelevant. Your statement was false.

37. uh no, why would it? altho to be honest don't think i've ever heard any man say that
as a woman i'm well aware what society thinks of women -- at the end of the day, we are considered inferior and get inferior chances, it takes a HELL of a lot for a man to want to be a woman

i know 3 people who had sex change from male to female, only one of them (the one i know the least well) continued to have sex with women after her transition

one of them, i honestly don't even know if, either in a male body or a female body, if she had ever had sex with another woman -- i'm not aware of it if she did, she had a long term relationship before/after the transition with the same guy

the other lady considered herself bi pre-op but i feel like her preference was always sex with men, post-op she no longer has sex with women, although she's still (distant) friends with her ex-wife and mother of her children

i guess what i'm saying is, you know yourself what you feel like so who am i to contradict if you try to share your feelings?

46. I think I may know why some men might say this..
Woman-on-woman porn is very popular with a lot of hetero men, a lot of guys are not really comfortable with seeing another man's erect penis, particularly of the John Holmes variety you see in a lot of porn.

With the woman-on-woman porn the guy can fantasize about being either partner without feeling "icky"..

No, I don't think gay male sex is "icky" but a lot of hetero guys do, even guys who do not wish to oppress gay men.
