Just heard Thom Hartmann say that...anyone notice this at the teabagger rallies?

1. It wouldn't surprise me at all.
I think the misspelling are intentional too. They know they get more coverage on the internets that way.

7. The way they were dumped, I'm not surprised.
I spent quite a bit of time making my anti-Iraq invasion sign and took it home with me.

I saw photos of trash cans brimming with what looked like meticulous HOME MADE signs. I thought to myself, why would you throw away what you took so long to make?

2. Of course!!!
Edited on Mon Sep-14-09 10:51 AM by Are_grits_groceries
It was obvious. All the words were spelled right. At least at the DC rally. I looked at a lot of posted signs. There weren't many that weren't correct.

5. careful...you're not following the script
for denigrating the protesters...you seem to imply some of them might be sincere...can't have that

there actually are printed signs at some HCR rallies supporting our side...no one seems to mind that

9. Some of them are sincere. Doesn't mean that they aren't idiots
It also doesn't mean that they aren't funded by other sources.

the 'moron marchers'?

13. I think there is a non-trivial amount
of 'group think' that assumes all who are opposed to the President's efforts at health care changes are

1) racists
2) paid off
3) stupid
4) some combination of the above

14. How would you define the ones that do not fit into one of those catergories.
I would say at best they are ignorant.

16. maybe they have different values...
maybe they're loners, maybe some fall into the categories I listed above, maybe they think private charities work 'better' than gov't programs, maybe they just don't trust gov't...any number of possibilities

18. Loners?
That doesn't seem relevant. And the other possibilities you mentioned fit under "Stupid" or "ignorant".

21. by loner I meant hates being in groups...not sits alone at lunch..
..and it seems to me possible to distrust gov't without being either stupid or ingnorant...many people distrusted the previous administration, and pretty much the whole gov't as a result...and many private charities work very well..

22. An administration is not government
Edited on Mon Sep-14-09 01:05 PM by DireStrike
Especially a republican administration in these last few decades... they are pretty much just destroying the federal government by any means possible.

Really it is not reasonable to support modern republicans at all. Anyone who does is stupid or ignorant.

The charity angle is a little better, but I don't think charity works so much better than government systems by ANY measure that it could provoke passionate protest....

Still not sure what you mean by loners. People that don't want to pay taxes?

I going to lunch....have a good afternoon

oh...loners: I mean some people choose not to join ANY groups...I don't know why...and some probably have convinced themselves they don't need health insurance (I don't know why)and resetn having to pay for what they don't want

25. I see what you mean about the "loners"
Enjoy your meal.

Those types will always be a problem for society. It is a conservative impulses that I understand, but find ultimately flawed.

15. I do this sometimes..
Advertising for low end business works better if it doesn't look too professional, I can make signs on my oversize printer that look like they were done with a spray can like graffiti.

19. Hmm. Maybe some of them printed out their signs
they'd designed on the computer and still have the files, so next time they go teabagging, they can just print out another copy.
