|
Just set aside $10,000 every year and - what? most people don't have an extra $10,000? Not even an extra $10?

5. Do you mean aside from faith healing? |

I'm just worried that they'll want to pass a mandate on faith healing. ;-)

6. The Health Solutions group. |
|
http://www.gopleader.gov/UploadedFiles/06-17-09_House__GOP_Solutions__Group__Outline.pdfIt mainly evolves tax credits. They don't say how they would pay for it. I don't think there is enough specificity for it to be scored by CBO.

7. health savings accounts. You take a couple of thousand dollars from your trust fund check... |
|
mummy sends you every month, and instead of spending it on coke and hookers, you put it in a banks account.

9. Thanks for the hilarious responses |

I am in the middle of a "friendly" discussion with a Republican who insists that the Democrats have been the one's unwilling to work with Republicans on Health Care reform. And I was wondering if they had offered anything at all to the discussion other than "No, won't vote for anything".

15. I believe 3 months ago they promised a counter proposal |
|
but nothing formally has ever been presented. There's been talk of tort reform, savings accounts, tax write offs, more deregulation... but nothing in a formal way to clarify what any of this means or why one would think they could work. Certainly nothing actionable in the form of a bill.

about allowing insurance companies to offer insurance across lines and, yes, health savings accounts. :eyes: Of course, neither of those things would do ANYTHING to solve the current huge mess nor will it help cover more people. Oh yeah, and emergency rooms, just like George W. Bush told us. :eyes:

14. Do you count McCain's from last year? |
|
I don't know that he's brought it up again recently.
State-level federal subsidized health-insurance pool of last resort (rather like most states have car insurance for the otherwise uninsurable); refundable tax credits to help pay for it, not means tested, IIRC. Also insurance across state lines. There was more.
A lot of it sounds familiar, to be honest.
