WASHINGTON — Public trust in the US media is eroding and increasing numbers of Americans believe news coverage is inaccurate and biased, according to a study released on Monday.

Just 29 percent of the 1,506 adults surveyed by the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press between July 22-26 said news organizations generally get the facts straight.

Sixty-three percent said news stories are often inaccurate, up from 34 percent in a 1985 study, Pew said.

3. although hopeful, its only increased because rightwingers are more convinced
since Obama is president.

left wingers have always known the right bias, and the right always pretended to think the media was biased, but secretly knew they were getting preferential treatment.

IMHO.

8. Actually, by Bush's 2nd term, M$M was in deep trouble
I recall a big pow-wow that major M$M types (network, newspapers, cable, periodicals, etc) held re the drastic loss of reader/viewership - CSPIN covered it.

7. The problem is everyone thinks THEIR sources are just fine.
It's like the polls about congress:

How do you feel about congress?
HATE 'EM!!

How do you feel about your congressman?
OH, HE'S GREAT!!

13. They don't care!!!!
As long as sponsors sponsor them and people tune in, they don't give a rats ass. They do not strive to be credible.
