Are the "Tenther" states just trying to get rid of "poor people"?
Edited on Mon Sep-14-09 09:41 PM by moondust
Have they concluded that if they can refuse to offer covered access to health care to everybody many of their current "poor people" will move to some other state that offers them coverage and other "poor people" will stop moving in? Class warfare?

Or not?

edit: It may not be obvious that by "poor people" I actually mean anybody who cannot get coverage under the status quo for whatever reason -- preexisting conditions, got sick last year, unemployed and can't afford it, etc. The "rich" can pay out-of-pocket so they can stay.

2. True.
Of course unemployment is pretty high in some states and they may think they have more cheap labor than they'll ever need.

3. It's class warfare but not to get rid of them
The powerful have a use for the poor.

Someone has to be the maid and clean out the trash and mow the lawn.

There is a concerted effort to create a two class society in this world. The wealthy and the poor.

Haves and have nots.

4. TennCare caused a huge influx of of uninsured poor folks.
The current Democratic Governor had to cut huge numbers of people off the rolls.

6. I doubt many could afford too.
The problem comes because the other States don't have similar plans. If they were uniform we wouldn't be hurting certain states.
