3. 2 teabagger lessons for democrats

1. republicans make teabaggers feel comfortable with their greed.
2. republicans make teabaggers feel comfortable with their hate.

regarding #1, teabaggers don't actually care about making and keeping more money. if they did, they would long ago have become democrats. what they want is to feel comfortable being greedy. democrats help them make money in a way that doesn't appeal to their greed, and that doesn't serve their interests. in fact, democrats might even make them feel ashamed of their greed. republicans appeal to their greed, so even though they get screwed in the process, that works for them, because it makes them feel ok about being greedy.

opposing taxes also works with #2. they can pick out the 0.5% of the budget that goes to black people on welfare and hate, hate, hate to their hearts' content. again, democrats make them feel guilty for being haters; republicans make them feel right at home.

3. & 4. You do understand that 2/3 of the TARP & the bailout of the auto manufacturers mostly consists of loans? And that the remainder is intended to go to state & local govts for infrastructure which has been ignored for 10 yrs or more?

5. According to the WHO, the US is #37 - just behind Costa Rica. Canada is #30, Israel is #28, Germany is #25, Sweden is #23, United Kingdom is #18, Norway is #11, Austria is #9, Spain is #7, Italy is #2, and of course France is #1.
So, no Canada & Europe do not have it worse.

6. Medicare covers the 5% of Americans who use the greatest share of our health care system, so of course it'll cost more.
But it's still more efficient than private for-profit insurance.

7. & 8. The GOP cares. They've spent almost a year trying to prove he is not a citizens and is a Muslim.
That's all they got.

9. Who is this guy? Who cares. He's not part of the Indiana University staff in any capacity. Claiming such is a typical conservative asshole move.
And even Faux Snooze is saying 60K.

10. Republicans policies are poison to a healthy capitalist economy. The last 30 yrs is ample proof.

29. 11. "Red Baiting" makes you all look like complete BOOBS.

Here's what I want to see with confrontational interviews a la Max Blumenthal (some brilliant ones in the Political Video section here):

1. Ask these people "Hmmm, I'm a little lax on my governmental terms. What's 'Communism'?" and see if you get a correct definition. Chances are, you won't.

2. Ask these people "Wow, that sign sure is funny. What's a 'Socialist'?" and see if you get a correct definition. Chances are, you won't.

3. Ask these people specifically what "freedom" Barack Obama has eradicated since he took office and see if you get an answer that isn't completely hypothetic or lunatic fringe.

4. Ask these people if they took public transportation to get there.

5. Ask these people what logical and intellectual chasm they leaped across when deciding that a hyper-corporatist nation like the U.S.A. (which historically has never given progressives one goddamned INCH on anything EVER) would ever turn into a nation that practices Social Democracy, much less turn into a "Communist" one, under a Democratic leader.
