Getting Democrats Out in the Mid-Terms
It is a well-known fact that way less people vote in the mid-term elections.

Clearly, I think this phenominon is worse in the democratic party.

What can we do to get more democrats out to vote in the miderms, and to show them the importance of voting in these elections. Thirty three senators are elected every two years, so we sacrifice one in two elections.

I don't mean to sound racist, but with Obama pulling nine of ten black votes, this is one huge group that would make a vast difference if their ranks can be marshalled in getting them out to vote for democrats.

Those of you with talents in this area, web design, or with influential positions in the D-Party need to figure out how to get mid section turnout up. I mean God, the Senate is the sticking point, we've got 57-2-40 now, imagine if we could get another five or six democrats, where we could ignore the Max Baucus's.

1. The teabaggers and Wingnuts will come out in full force in 2010. We have to counteract that.

2. The key is going to be what laws are passed by Congress and signed by the Prez. If
there is little or no improvement in the economy, the war, and healthcare reform, the party "in power" (yeah, right) will suffer.

The cons will always turn out to attack Dems. But liberal Dems (the ground troops who contribute most of the money and the overwhelming percentage of work) will not be especially motivated to go out an vote for the cretins who abused their majority by doing nothing!

Without an Obama at the top to drive it, the Democratic ballot will suffer.

But hey - maybe all those crossover voters, the Raygun Democrats, the bipartisans that the administration and the Congressional Dems cater to so strongly, and the great unwashed, uninformed, undecideds in the middle will repeat their votes from '08 and elect Democrats in lieu of Obama.

Nah, probably not. So, it comes back to the liberals' judgment as to the effectiveness of our "majority" party.

3. Start a non-profit.
Set up a method of funding and recurit people. This is what ACORN did.

You coul also plan a voting party. Call everyone in your list of contacts, take a vacation day, and hold a voting party. Free food and booz to anyone that shows up with an I voted sticker. (Take their keys and don't let them drive away.)

Get together with a dozen friends and rent a limozine and run your GOTV limousine service.

Contact yor congressment or representatie to see how you can work with them to get elected.
