4. Actually he has been
one of its strongest and vocal supporters in the Senate. Kind of surprising, I know, but I think Rockefeller is difficult to pigeonhole.

5. Thank you, Senator Rockefeller. We need more to be declarative like you.

There will be zero Republicans anyway, so why not just damn the torpedoes and do the best thing for our citizens.

The people want it.

The doctors want it.

Move it.

9. Actually Rockefellar made this announcement because the Baucus
Plan is due out. He will not support the Baucus Plan because
of the Co-OPs.

10. i'm not surprised. He brought it up on This Week/Sunday

when Landreau was defending the Insurance companies

Following up on his This Week appearance where he promised to fight on for the public option, Sen. Jay Rockefeller blasted the draft bill produced by Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus: “there is no way in its present form that I vote for it unless it changes in the amendment process by vast amounts.”

11. Jay has also said we should tax the rich to pay for it.
And when a Rockefeller says tax the rich, what better endorsement is there?

12. That's terrific news
His constituents include most of my family. I'm tired of the disconnect and cognitive dissonance of the communities they live in, where no one bats an eye at a coffee can on the Dairy Mart counter collecting money for a pediatric leukemia patient trying to raise money for surgery or rehabilitation therapy, or for a police officer severely injured while responding to an accident at the same time editorials in the newspaper decry government health care.
