While to the ordinary American, this is less than a fart in a frying pan, in the upper reaches of the Washington cocktail circuit, this sort of thing is very, very bad. I'm betting that Addison Graves Wilson "boycotts" the debate, but I believe the Speaker can ask the Sergeant at Arms to compel Wilson's presence for the reading of the resolution if it passes.
