Can we declare them enemy combatants, and torture them? Extraordinary rendition? Freespeech cage all two million of them? They were the ones that declared war on the USA! They are threatening to murder us. Screw all that. Lets get Holder to scribble sumpin up, and lock it away. Sure would change their tune quickly, wouldn't it?

1. I don't support illegal detention, torture, mass murder or illegitimate prosecutions.
That still applies to the hyper-conservative disruptors.

4. Technically, I am armed. Does that make me a threat?

6. Are their currently or have there been teabaggers brandishing a loaded firearm?

There is a difference between carrying a gun and presenting it in a threatening manner.

8. Like I said, carrying a loaded firearm does not constitute a threat.
While I agree that moron was both trying to frighten and show off, he did not technically threaten anyone with his handgun.

10. You may think that, but the law disagrees.
I also disagree.

Open carry is perfectly legal in most of this country.

11. In close proximity toa crowd, the threat of losing the gun, to unknown persons
necessitates thinking about the common good. Have your crazy buddy steal your gun, that you bought to a political event. Deny knowing. There are a million scenarios. To have your children around the guy, with the threat of someone ungunning him, is a threat. To make statements, that you may need to use the gun, if we Dems dont capitulate to your threats, is a clear muzzle on MY free speech.

No it's not. There are no laws, that I know of, requiring that open carry firearms be kept in a special holster even if you are in a crowded area.

Discretion is left up to the gun owner. While I agree that it was dumb to go to the gathering with a hip holster that had no passive locking mechanism, it was perfectly legal and technically posed no threat.

If you are worried about kids being around the gun, keep the damn kids away.

The guy in NH never threatened anyone with his gun. He made passive statements about vague quotes about revolution.

15. Thing is, a million bad things could happen in this scenario
Even if it isn't illegal, its definitely a bad idea.

17. Well yeah I don't want to legislate against it
But bad ideas should be discouraged

3. You mean "waterboard" them?
Wouldn't that be a waste of water? I mean, aren't some parts of the country enduring droughts?
