Did anyone see the story on the Ed Show
about Cigna kkeping the lady's cancer diagnosis from her so they wouldn't have to pay? Does anybody have more info. on this?

This and the Sarkasian case - and many others, but these are the ones that come to mind - are not only greedy, selfish, but criminal. And I'm not being rhetorical. I think some of these are worthy of criminal prosecution.

If these corporations can claim personhood, they can damn well get prosecuted when they pull this shit. The CEO and board should be criminally responsible when this is done.

Yank their corporate charter.

Go at Health Care reform from the attorney general's office.

2. That sounds so odd
Don't doctors get test results directly from labs and testing facilities? So how does the insurance company get the results first and keep it from the physician? Maybe Cigna is its own HMO like Kaiser but I've never heard that

8. That is why I am asking for more info. on this case
it seemed to give the impression that it was a situation where the corporate b'crat was "in the office with the doctor." If the doctor was negligent, that is one thing, but if they were putting pressure on the doctor they are criminally responsible in my book. (and yes, I am an attorney)

Even if the facts of this case don't line up in the way it appears on the basis of what I hear (a big "if") the principle holds. I am sure that there are cases that would warrant criminal prosecution.

6. I agree that if that story is true, criminal charges should be brought on CIGNA.
He gave a website where you can see other stories, but I didn't write it down.

11. Yep
I just spent 45 minutes on the sickforprofit.com site. It goes into depth there. Be prepared to barf at the salaries these folks are getting compared to what it would cost to give their CUSTOMERS the PRODUCT the customer purchased.
