So, let me get this straight. The battered partner gets her insurance dropped but the abusive partner could (conceivably) maintain his insurance coverage. That's 10 kinds of fucked up, pardon my French.

it's fucked up that "preexisting condition" is virtually a household phrase here in the US and that it is either a joke or a word puzzle for most people in other "developed" countries.
