Can we get the basic terms correct here?! |

This is for Republicans, who denounced the rebuke to Rep. Joe Wilson as a "witch hunt."
For brain-dead Republicans (that's a redundancy if ever there was one), a "witch hunt" is when a person is persecuted for a crime that he not only did not commit, but could not have possibly committed -- as there are no such thing as witches. Sorry Wiccans, but until you can manage to turn me into a newt, there's no such thing as a witch in the generally-accepted meaning of the term.
Joe Wilson is not the victim of a Witch Hunt. First of all, he did the fucking crime, as tens of millions of people watching the speech can readily attest. And since Wilson has already apologized for what he did, even HE acknowledges that he's guilty as Cain in this matter. The offense in question is not a figment of somebody's imagination. It happened.
As to the Republican claim that Wilson did nothing that hadn't been done by Democrats during the Bush years, there's two points to make here. A) Saying that others did it too does not constitute a Witch Hunt (it's further evidence that Wilson really did do it), and B) You lying sack of crap, you. Name the Democrat who heckled Bush during any of his speeches before Congress. Name names or shut the fuck up.
So this is not a Witch Hunt. What it is, is Republicans demanding to never be held accountable for their actions.

1. Republicans have issues with the meaning of words and the truth. |
|
They haven't a clue what Socialist, Communist and Fascist mean; they lie blatantly about anything and everything. "Witch hunt" evokes an emotional response and places Wilson as a victim; that's all that matters. Who cares what it really means? :silly:

They way they toss those words around would make my head explode.
But let's be clear about what they mean when the call Obama a Nazi. It has nothing to do with any generally accepted definition of the word or any historical parallels to Nazi Germany.
What the Glenn Beck's of the world are saying to their lunatic fringe followers is Obama is a Nazi, and since all Nazi's are evil, it's all right for you to kill Obama. Make no doubt about it -- in the fetid swamp that is the collective psyche of the right wing, assassinating this President is an act of patriotism.

3. I don't care what it is. The GOP needs to be taught respect. |

We need to do this kind of thing more often.

Kanye is rude for interrupting Taylor Swift (at a fucking who-the-fuck-cares awards show), but Addison Wison can interrupt the president.
Rude is rude, no matter who does it. So, either people are allowed to interrupt as they please and without regard to rules (ala Wilson) or there is an expectation of civil behavior and those that break it are reprimanded as appropriate (ala Kanye).
You're right, no one heckled Bush even when he was lying. Not only is it rude, it's against House rules.

in the line: "person is persecuted for a crime that he not only did not commit"
in *should* have said: "person is persecuted for a crime that he not only did not commit"
...if you're going to spell it out for those morans--you really have to spell it out.
