not because he has a good bone in his body, but only because he has a "highly developed sense of self preservation"

6. Baucus isn't beholden to us or to doctors...
He's shilling for the insurance companies, and he doesn't view the healthcare crisis in any other
terms.

The insurance companies bought themselves a Baucus. So Baucus is simply following the orders of
his owners.
