3. No, because he is a democrat.
Racists tend to be repubs, that is why there are a lot of repub racists. But that is not why Obama is attacked by the repubs. It is because he is a democrat.

The attacks on Obama are nothing compared to the open hatred of Hillary Clinton. She is truly hated. If she is ever elected president you will see a true shit storm. It isn't just the racists that hate her, it is ALL repubs.

The only people who notice Obama are black is the true racists.

Republicans are just doing what they do. Form a team, then attack the other team. They don't even know why they are against the democrats.

4. Republicans hate women and blacks - AND Democrats, when a person is two out of three
or God forbid THREE out of three - then they REALLY hate them.

Hatred of Democrats multiplies with the 'isms.

15. Triana ~ I agree with you
I am African American and I did appreciate the calm way that President Carter addressed the Race issue.

He is from the South and he put it out there for Americans to think on.

I am sometimes not listened to when I say that it is not totally about Racism. If anyone at DU should knows a thing or two it would be those of us who have seen Racism destroy our families since the first slaves set foot on this beautiful land. Those of us that also have American Indian Blood know about it too.

It really surprises me because those that are screaming "RACIST" the loudest are not really addressing the issue.

In my opinion, the screaming about it is exactly what gets the Teabaggers happy.

Teabaggers think that the Democrats doing the Screaming will start doubting President Obama and in their pretzel twisted minds, those Democrats will vote for a White Repubican the next time.

President Obama's Speech on Race was IMO an example of his knowledge and feelings that the Screaming on both sides would get worse ~ as it has ~ and he wanted those that truly care about the civil rights of ALL people in America to know how to address it.

His response to Wilson was perfect IMO, just perfect.
Ms. Goclark was so hurt and angry I wanted to put my fist through my television but I noticed that President Obama had it covered.

Those Democrats that are screaming "Racist Remark--- they hate Obama just because he is Black!" need to take a few positive steps to change things in this country, not just for President Obama but to make America a better place....

1. Work night and Day for Health Care Reform - March in the streets at every rally and make this happen!

If we can pass Health Care, the teabaggers may get more frustrated and angry but they will have lost a major battle.

If they "win" on Health Care, that "Black" President will have less power and that would thrill them.

We can not let that happen!

2.Donate to the NAACP ~ let's put our money where it can do so much to help the ongoing March to Justice. The President of the NAACP,Benjamin Todd Jealous,is a dynamic leader with his eye firmly on JUSTICE.

Donate here....

http://www.naacp.org/

There is an article on the first page about Wilson.

3. Don't just Scream about it -- Educate everyone you know about the issue of Racism and calmly work to erase the ugly words associated with RACISM from the American Dictionary.

18. NAACP - definitely. My hero/angel MJ was a big supporter...
...believed in social justice BIG time and was a big contributor. Jealous had very kind words for MJ.

"Make the World a better place" for you and for me. Start with America - with decent health care. Agreed 100%!!

President Obama's speech on race is THE speech that won me over to him. Before I heard that, I was undecided. That was a PHENOMENAL speech. Historic. Unforgettable.

I will send a donation to NAACP - 'cause you asked - it's a good reminder.

5. And I am sure that the folks like teabaggers never let the color of skin affect their judgement...
:eyes:

Come on. Like you've never been around them when there are no minorities present and not heard the shit that comes out of their mouths.

7. Everybody lets everything effect their judgement.
And yeah, I have been around lots of actual racists.

And I am telling you the fact that he is black is not the big reason the repubs are so against him.

The fact that he is black just highlights how liberal he is.

Seriously, they just don't hate that black man anything at all like that white woman or her white husband, the Clintons.

And Obama is turning out to be not nearly as bad as they had feared. I am starting to hear right wingers say they are glad it was him instead of Hillary.

9. I had to go to work. Like I do now. I have painting to do.
If you want to start a brand new thread on that go ahead. But I'm not coming home after a 10 hour day, then a workout, and then house chores, to answer like 50 responses to a post.

You like his films? Fine, you can have my seat at the theater.

I do have a great new sig line though.

Now if you're going to talk shit in public then go cover your ass there. Try to reply to just one. Not to 50.

And I don't give a shit about your sig. I don't really give a shit about anyone's sig. Soundbytes don't do jack for me and are all context.

What are you now defending his honor or something? I won't be meeting you for a duel or anything.

I don't like his work, at all. Not ok with you? I don't care.

You are too worked up over this for me to have any respect for you.

Please, feel free to have the last very emotional word.

6. Nailed it
The whole "welfare queen" meme, which has been around since Reagan, and it is all code words for racism. It's funny, when I bring up the point that the majority on welfare in this country are white and mostly rural (and I'd add about 100% of those on welfare around here fit this description), the shaking of heads and look of disbelief on the faces of the idiots is astounding.
