I was just thinking about this with all the flap about Republicans wanting to deny undocumented immigrants health care. Elian, who's mother died trying to make her way from Cuba to Florida is a child who entered the country illegally. Republicans fought hard to keep him in this country to live with his family in Miami and and vilified Democrats who felt it was right to reunite him with his father.

These are the same folks that right now, would expect an emergency room to ask someone having a heart attack to show proof of citizenship and expect the hospital to call INS instead of treating them.

Where is the so called "Liberal Media" why aren't they pointing out THIS hypocrisy!!!!

If Elian had arrived in the US under similar circumsatnces by coming from Mexico, they'd he howling for his immediate deportation.
