Where Men Win Glory...Pat Tillman book
Edited on Wed Sep-16-09 01:37 PM by Neecy
This book was released yesterday, and I downloaded it via Kindle. Just finished it.

There's so much about this book to discuss, particularly regarding the Pentagon/Bush White House cover up regarding the manner of Tillman's death, but I'll hold off until more of us have had a chance to read it. I'd just like to bring up, however, a bit about Stanley McChrystal, who over the summer was given command of our operations in Afghanistan and promoted to General - an appointment that was given approval by the Democratic Senate in June.

McChrystal is one of the least sympathetic individuals in the book and was a key figure in the cover-up of Tillman's death by friendly fire. He's also described as a 'favorite' of Cheney and Rumsfeld and he was one of Cheney's pipelines to the Pentagon. Interesting that given the reports of Cheney plants throughout the government we now have one of them commanding our forces in Afghanistan, and in fact will probably recommend a 'surge' in Afghanistan sometime this month.

Pat Tillman was always worried that in the event of his death he'd be exploited by the Bush White House. It's sad to see that someone who willingly went along with this exploitation - to the degree that it clearly became deliberate fraud - is rewarded with a promotion and a key command.

"Do you really expect us Chickenhawk Republicons to care? Bwaa ha ha ha. Tell that to our Elite Corps of Overpaid Republicon Chickenhawk Propagandists: Rush, O'Reilly, Hannity, Beck, and the horde of other Republicon Chickenhawk 'leaders' who cleverly avoided serving in the militarym, while urging others to sign up. Sneer."
