Randall Terry to protest at Obama girls' school.
Press release from Operation Rescue:

"One protest will occur at Sidwell Friends School in Washington DC, where many high powered politicos send their children.

"We will not be intimidated into silence. We will continue to show images of aborted babies at high schools, no matter what the cost.

<snip>

"President Obama condemned Jim Pouillon's murder - which is good - but he said nothing about protecting pro-lifers. At least by going to Sidwell Friends School, we know we will have police protection. " Randall Terry, Director, Operation Rescue Insurrecta Nex."

Words fail me. This is way too far and too out of hand. The crazies are getting too close.

They're doing anything they can to ratchet up the chaos. And, does Sidwell include high school education as well? The Obama girls are clearly not in high school.

It's not just the Obamas that attend that school. The uber wealthy Republicon politicians often enroll their children there.

45. which Republicans send their kids there?
There may be some Republicans there, but there are far more Democrats. The majority of the kids at Sidwell that have parent politicians are the children of people in the Obama administration. Don't forget that senators and representatives usually don't move their families to DC. Their kids attend school in their home state.

20. He may get close, but won't be leaving by the same mode of transportation.
It's not smart to fuck with the children of the POTUS, Representatives, Senators and Diplomats (foreign and domestic).

Besides, any agency that would give this turd a permit to protest at such an inappropriate venue deserves to undergo a serious management shakeup. Barring that, I'm sure the PoPo and SS would enjoy some time with Randy. After getting some of his views on tape, could a commitment hearing be far behind?

Randall Terry has just jumped the shark.

33. I almost didn't post this OP, because I was feeling like you...it sucks, but
I believe strongly in the 1st Amendment. Then I thought about Dr. Tiller, and I feel like Operation Rescue has lost that right by encouraging and abetting Scott Roeder in what he did. Oh, I know that isn't proven and is, in fact, denied, but I don't buy it for one second. And because of Roeder and the other crazies that Terry encourages, I don't want them anywhere near the Obama kids (or any other kids for that matter).

17. This is the same guy?
"Let a wave of intolerance wash over you. I want you to let a wave of hatred wash over you. Yes, hate is good.... If a Christian voted for Clinton, he sinned against God. It's that simple.... Our goal is a Christian Nation... we have a biblical duty, we are called by God to conquer this country. We don't want equal time. We don't want Pluralism. We want theocracy. Theocracy means God rules. I've got a hot flash. God rules."

I'm seriously amazed that someone so full of hate is allowed anywhere near a school or children.

19. If any of us tried to protest in front of the Bush twinettes, we'd
have our knee caps broken. AND we'd be in jail, awaiting trial, for disturbing a piece (of something, at least until the news trucks left, then the case would be dismissed)

What we sometimes fail to realize, is how much we have, and how much we can further progress.

Face it. Today's society is so much better for the vast majority of us. Blacks (mostly) can vote. Hispanics can buy houses. Irish can run for office. Jews can own investment companies. Germans can teach their kids German. People can sue for damages in civil court. Alleged criminals are given the right to a jury and the right to confront their witnesses. Gays can marry in several states. Children have access to medical care (mostly) even if their parents are poor. The elderly have SS and Medicare. We continue space exploration. We now have stem cell research, despite the fucking asshole anti-science religious creeps that make up most of today's GOP. We have increasing productivity, and better medicines for many problems. Dental care is routine, painless, and lasts for decades, without wooden plates, but with anesthesia. A woman has the right to choose. A child has the right to get an education. A man has the right to be a house husband.

OK, for each of these, there is a counterpart, a downside, even serious competition if not complaint. But, it seems, for the first time, that society is approaching something, something wonderful. We are approaching a time and place where everyone is supported to a basic level, and that everyone can benefit from their own talents, efforts and ideas.

We are far from being there, but we get closer. Much closer, despite Bush, the Shrub.

THIS is what pisses off the birthers and the Randall Terrys Despite their best efforts, their religious freaky fucked up ideas are being rejected, and thrown out by a growing majority of us. Europe is ahead of us in many way, and behind us in some. But they suffer too, from similar problems, in a uniquely Euro way.

Asia? Who could have predicted that China would be more capitalistic than the US in 2007? Or that Japan would be a wounded duck 20 years after its real estate mortgage collapse (their's was commercial. Our's was residential. Our commercial collapse will happen in the beginning of 2010)

Yet, we have to deal with crap like this, and see the first family under virtual attack. I wonder who will stand up and complaint about this. Most dems in office still have no spine. The GOP? Hah. They, unfortunately love it. That slows down the general progression of our nation. But only by a little bit.

27. Since when do anti-choicers
protest on K-12 campuses? I've never heard of exposing children to this kind of crazy, scary, propaganda at school. The first time I ever saw one of their obscene, building sized placards of fake aborted fetuses, up close, was on a college campus, and I was an adult. I was also shocked and horrified, and angry as hell.

So kids can be protected from a president's speech about staying in school and doing their best, but they can't be protected from a bunch of hateful, violent, crazy fucks? There is something very wrong here.

I seriously hate these people. It is a fairly new feeling for me - hate. It has taken years for me to get here.
