Healthy Future Act. Seriously, Max? For who? Cigna!
I just started to read this 223 page tome. What a bunch of garbage! It allows insurers to increase premiums for "old people" (not really defined)FIVE TIMES what a single person who is uh, not old, pays!

The uninsurable due to pre-existing conditions and what not have to be uninsured for SIX MONTHS before they can join the high risk pool that will close in 2013.

Have y'all read this beast?

1. No. I have no interest in reading it. I know what it is.
A more accurate title would be "The Health Insurance Company Enrichment Act of 2009."

As we expected.

2. Healthy bottom lines and exec bonuses, of course
WTF cares about old people? Or sick people? That's so... yesterday!

Besides, the quicker the old farts and the terminally ill drop dead, the healthier our demographics will get. Six months without health care would go a long way to killing off oh, at least 25% of them. Choosing between the monthly premium, the rent, heat, medicine co-pays, and food should help finish off the remaining old cusses who disrespectfully refuse to drop dead on schedule.

3. I don't suppose it mentions how the premiums for a "high risk" pool will be set
Any "plan" that only admits high risk people is doomed to fail because it will cost way too much to maintain.

ones who get this.

10. and never were going to vote for
no matter what was in it. It could have been the perfect Reopublican plan. Shit, this one practically is. But the Repugs won't support anything that will be perceived at any level as being a win for Obama. We knew this going into it so why all the ass kissing for votes that will not be forthcoming?

Screw this. Write a Democratic bill and get the same amount of votes.

I am soooo pissed at Baucus and the Blue Dogs. Thanks guys (and gals.) You may have just cost us the House and maybe even the senate for 2010. Will it be worth it to see nothing happen?
