Glenn Beck makes me feel stupid: Ex-pat rant

The first time I heard him, I was taking a break from college to be an OTR Truck Driver (I was 22 and naive). I was driving for the now defunct ROCOR, which is part of Prime, Inc. now.

As I was fueling up the Flying J outside of Tulsa, I heard Glenn Beck for the first time. I laughed listening to his inanity and thought he was a parody. I thought to myself "what a sendup of RW idiots like Michael Savage."

The next day, I listened to him and something changed. I began to think "holy crap, this guy is serious." He began to go from mildly entertaining to. . .sad in about ten minutes, as he began his rant on Terri Schiavo, before it was picked up by the rest of the idiot talking heads.

As I listened, I began to hear something different: A scared, exposed bully with no sense of purpose and no real soul, who spouts assinine crap in order to completely fill the void all the drugs and alcohol did not fill. I began listening to a clean drunk. . .a man who claims to be sober physically, but not emotionally or psychologically.

In the span of one day, I went from mild laughter at his "sendup" to feeling quite sad. Saddened not that I was 22, naive and fooled by a charlatan, but saddened that people truly consider his schtick funny and entertaining.

Now, I live overseas in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province in China after a year living in Suwon, Gyonggi-do in South Korea. I look at Glenn as a train wreck or a fifteen car pileup on the Hebei Expressway. He is too retarded for Limbaugh, too unbalanced for Hannity, too swarmy for O'Reilly and not crazy enough for Savage. I listened to him bad mouth the two countries I lived in other than the United States and I realized something: No wonder the rest of the world looks at us as buffoons; look who the media trumps up as American mouthpieces.

Every time I hear Glenn Beck get more press, I am saddened. Our intelligence drops as a nation each time he opens his mouth and American listen. Why did this obviously unbalanced, unhinged, stupid and petty little man become a mouth piece? Why did CNN give him his start after the RW Clear Channel trumped him up? Did they not listen to his crap?

Oh well, we will let our population get dumber because of jackasses like Glenn Beck because ignorance is bliss and Glenn Beck is the happiest man in the world. No wonder Beck laughs at his own jokes and the rest of us just laugh at him.

That's one reason why the Republicon Homelanders love him. Virtually all of the Republicon 'leaders' and mouthpieces are Chickenhawks who advocate war but who have not served the USA for even five minutes, having either dodged the draft, declined to volunteer, or gone AWOL.

Beck is yet another of these Republicon Chickenhawks (like Limbaugh, O'Reilly, and Hannity). As nature confirms: Birds of a feather flock together.
