Just Got Back From My Post Office & Heard They Are Dropping Insurance for their Employees. |
|
Just got back form the Post Office. Overheard one of the girls I have known there for years talk about her insurance. Here is basically what she said.
"Gotta find new insurance. Got dropped from my current Insurance. Gee, thanks Mr. President!"
Now, I did not want to get into it with her so I smiled and just left. However, I took my Mom to get her hair cut this week and sad to say the lady who has cut her hair for years is a rabid foaming at the mouth freeper and my Mom is a Obama supporter,so they never discuss politics. She asked my Mom the other day what she will do when her insurance drops her. My Mom asked what she meant and she said under Obama's plan you'll have zero insurance. Now, my Mom knows this woman is nuts because last month she told my Mom once you hit 70 unless you are rich, you will die. Social Security and medicare won't pay for anything and you will have to just die(no joke she aid this to my Mom who is pushing 70) So, what am I missing here?
Obviously I have 2 freepers living in my town who are repeating something. My Mom is not concerned, just curious plus after leaving the Post Office I must admit, I am curious of a new rumor or death panel lie is being created that I have missed.

1. There are so many untrue memes being spread that it's |

almost impossible to count them. I don't know where that one originated, but I'm sure it's spreading through idiotic email forwarding. Uff da!

If she was that concerned, all she'd have had to do was a google search.

Mom has said in the past lets not talk politics so she knows better. My Mom overheard her telling another customer this and just let it go. I was on my way out when I heard this and did not want to talk about something I didn't know, which is why I came here. I thought maybe they had half the story right or were confusing it with something. Sometimes,at least for me, it's not worth it. My brother and go at it and I WILL NOT let him get away with any crap he spews about Obama and liberals. Same with a couple co workers. hen it comes to total strangers I see no point getting into a pissing match unless it is something really racist or sick. I am surprised with this postal worker because she seems pretty laid back and I always got the vibe she was rather liberal, which she could be.

19. as the Republican party is boiled down to only the stupidest and angriest of people.... |

I'm not sure there's really much point in trying to correct them, I really don't. Practically by definition, they are not open to facts or logic.

4. Which "Mr. President" was the P.O. lady thanking? |
|
If she's getting dropped by her insurance, it's Mister President BUSH's fault, if anyone's. He was the Don't Let Anything be Regulated President.

5. Their deep-seated anxieties are being given form... |

by the crazy fabrications of the right wing propagandists. It is a totally emotional reaction based on no logic or fact, which is what makes it so hard to counteract. Even if you put incontrovertible truth in front of them, they will squirm away and shape shift to cling to their "faith."

We are retired but we still have the Post Office Insurance, APWU. We haven't heard anything about them dropping the coverage. I'll check around to see if any current employees have heard anything about that.

11. My dear young postal delivery person, an ex-Marine and yet liberal-leaning, |

hasn't said anything about HIS medical insurance being cancelled.
Probably a blant lie or rank stupidity at work, would be my guess.

18. My dad was a letter carrier for 25 years. They are not losing their health care. |
|
That is a lie.
And seriously, your mom needs to find someone new to do her hair. And I'd tell the lady exactly why she's leaving, too. The lady who cut my hair said that creation needs to be taught in school, not evolution. I told her I'd be taking my substantial business elsewhere.
