I agree with you in part that the demographics of the US have changed/are changing and that generally, people lean left, etc. etc. Problem is, the left fails to organize and to be proactive and seems to lose their footing, much at the hands of the radical right. We saw it with Clinton. We are witnessing it now.

They control the media, they control the message, and as crazy as they are, it bleeds into even the most reasonable news feeds. The left needs to get proactive - they need to build their own media and fund progressive programs from youth to adult age groups, etc.
