4. God forbid a rich man ever foot a bill himself. |

I swear to God there is an income level above which you are never again required to pay for anything.

surgery on Monday. It's not a big deal. Broken arm/wrist. But the thing is, the doc thinks my other wrist has a hidden fracture and he wants to repair it at the same time. My share of cost for the MRI is so high I decided to forgo the test. The pain has improved so I just couldn't justify the expense and will have to live with it. (Honestly, though, it does feel very much improved.)
The thing is, I have it so much better than so many people. I have coverage. And I am so grateful that I do. But if I'm struggling, I know there is no reasonable way for people with less (or no) coverage to survive even a simple broken bone.
All the things we've been talking about are hitting home (fortunately, on a small scale) for me right now. So hearing about the Dick and his paid-for back surgery is pissing me off something special right about now. Fuck Dick Cheney. He can afford to pay his medical bills out of pocket while I'm panicking over how I'm going to cover my share of cost for ER, labs, specialist, surgery center.
And I'm one of the lucky ones.
