M. Blackwell: Founder, "Leadership Institute" (Acorn vids) & Pinochetista trainer?
Edited on Fri Sep-18-09 01:14 AM by Hannah Bell
Morton Blackwell resume includes:

- President, International Policy Forum

"a foundation which promotes educational exchanges between conservatives in the US and pro-freedom leaders in other countries." IPF trains rightwing conservatives around the world in New Right political techniques. Paul Weyrich chairs IPF.

"Blackwell and Weyrich also lead International Policy Forum (IPF), which appears to be the international parallel to CNP. The two organizations held joint meetings in St. Petersburg, Russia, in 1991 and in Romania in 1992.

Blackwell has also trained rightist political forces in Latin America and Africa through IPF, notably:

- supporters of the Pinochet military dictatorship,
- Argentinean rightists
- supporters of Inkatha chief Buthelezi in South Africa. It was Buthelezi's group that later attempted to create civil war in South Africa to keep apartheid policies in place. Inkatha worked with pro-apartheid and neo-nazi groups to stop the elections eventually won by Nelson Mandela. A number of IPF projects, including the Inkatha training, were aided by U.S. government funding through the National Endowment for Democracy"

'The Secret Story of a Cult Apologist' reveals a photograph of Paul Weyrich and Morton Blackwell with the American head of Tradition, Family & Property (TFP), Plinio de Correa de Olivier's.

TFP is the parent organization of CESNUR, the cult apology network for cults such as Scientology.

Blackwell endorsed Olivier's book, 'Nobility & Analagous Traditional Elites,' on the necessity of restoring traditional Nobility & Elites to rule the world.

In the Foreword Blackwell wrote: "One does not have to accept Papal infallibility to appreciate a case persuasively made, using theological, moral, and prudential arguments. This book will convince many readers, whatever their faith, that good elites are legitimate, desirable and, yes, necessary."

Fascism: read between the lines & see if you smell it:

1. Then check this: leadership institute trained 'jeff gannon'
Leadership Institute Broadcast Journalism School
by baltimoretim

This diary is a site for investigation of the Leadership Institute's Broadcast Journalism School, the institution which trained fake newsman "Jeff Gannon."

KagroX offered this link, which details the foundation-based funding of the Leadership Institute.

Coors, Amway and Scaife money back this Institute. That said, they took in $7.6 million in donations last year, and these foundations only account for about $200k of that. There's a lot more money to be found, if we can find it.

thebes adds that the Center for Print and Broadcast Media is colocated with the Leadership Institute. Also, the CPBM operates out of the "Sacher Multi-Media Center." Fred Sacher is a Director of the Leadership Institute.

Craig L. Murphy Form 990 gives his residence as Arlington, Texas. A Craig L. Murphy also runs Mobil Oil of Ghana. The same guy? Also, the Texas GOP have a spokesman named Craig Murphy.
Baker Armstrong Smith Lawyer for National Policy Board of Governors (1982). Assistant to the Secretary, U.S. Department of HUD, for Labor Relations, former executive director of the Center on National Labor Policy, Inc., and Leader of the "Presidential transition team" for the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).

Eugene H. Methvin Alleged mob-expert tries to tie the Clintons to the mob in this hack job.

Dennis M. Daugherty wanderindiana and thebes find that he's a federal employee who authored a document dealing with oil/gas exploration.

Kevin C. Richardson Not going to get any better than the League of Women voters questionairre he filled out. Former lawyer for the Republicans.

Fred Sacher "A longtime financial supporter of conservative causes, Sacher contributed $400,000 to the Nicaraguan contras and received a note of thanks from Oliver North" (Atlanta Journal and Constitution, 8/21/94) link.

Rev. Fred Fowler Anti-union guy. Chairman of the Board at the National "Right-to-Work" Legal Defense Foundation, Inc. (sarcastic quotes mine).

Ken Thornhill "first vice president of the Louisiana Sweet Potato Growers Association." This is the guy. Unless there are more than one Ken Thornhills in Wisner, LA.

MORTON C. BLACKWELL Republican party activist for ages. Special assistant to Reagan in the early 80's. Check out his horrible writings/lectures online here. Then go take a shower.

As President of this group, he's really calling the shots. And he pulls down a sweet $190,000 annually.

John P. Maxwell Can't find anything on this guy on google. Lives in Alexandria, VA.

You can see why they wanted so badly to discredit ACORN.

These quotes really strikes a chord or nerve depending how you want to take it:

'Nobility & Analagous Traditional Elites,' on the necessity of restoring traditional Nobility & Elites to rule the world.

"One does not have to accept Papal infallibility to appreciate a case persuasively made, using theological, moral, and prudential arguments. This book will convince many readers, whatever their faith, that good elites are legitimate, desirable and, yes, necessary."

And they complain about "the Elites" when it's the Liberals :eyes:

:kick: & RRRRRRRR as well as bookmarked.

edit: Could this be the John Maxwell you're looking for Board Member John Maxwell is a lawyer and political consultant with over two decades of experience in government affairs and political organization. He is a principal in the Alexandria, Virginia based consulting firm Maxwell & Associates.

Prior to beginning his current political consulting practice he held several positions in the U.S. Congress including chief of staff to members of the United States Senate and House of Representatives. He also served as Chief Counsel to the U.S. Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Agency Administration during Republican control of the Senate in the early 1980's.

4. That guy's writing is creepy. It's not overt, but it immediately reminded me of
the nazi "blut und boden" rhetoric.

6. Yep
As well, the Council on National Policy was started by Tim LaHaye:

The Council for National Policy is a secretive forum that was formed in 1981 by Tim LaHaye as a networking tool for leading US conservative political leaders, financiers and religious right activist leaders. The group, which meets three times a year, promotes "Educational conferences for national leaders in the fields of business, government, religion and academia to explore national policy alternatives. Weekly newsletters are distributed to all members to keep them apprised of member activities and public policy issues. A semi-annual journal is produced from membership meeting speeches."<1>

In 2001, ABC News reported: "The CNP describes itself as a counterweight against liberal domination of the American agenda."<2>

Others are not so kind to the organization and its motives. Mark Crispin Miller states that the CNP is a "highly secretive... theocratic organization -- what they want is basically religious rule" (A Patriot Act). Barry W. Lynn, the executive director of Americans United for Separation of Church and State, told the New York Times about the CNP meeting ahead of the 2004 Republican National Convention, "The real crux of this is that these are the genuine leaders of the Republican Party, but they certainly aren't going to be visible on television next week."
