dial up. Say I click on a link, waste five minutes waiting for the damn thing to become legible only find myself at a video link I can't watch anyhow. Five minutes of my life wasted. Screw it. I just stopped clicking on blind links. If there is a snippet from the link, I can determine if I feel it is worth the time it is going to take to be able to read the article in its entirety.
