Dear Ed Schultz: I resent all the Republicans you allow to have face time on your show
Yeah, I know the counter argument. Let them voice their insane views so that you can knock them down.

Here's my reply to that. Giving them one instant to state their views is one instant too many. They have Fox "News," they have more than half of the op-ed columns in the (so-called) main stream press, and they outnumber liberals three to four on all the Sunday morning propaganda fests.

Listen, Ed. Why should you give them any opportunity to further peddle their bullshit. Even though you can demolish them with your counter arguments, why give them one second to go on spreading their hatred? In your responses to them, you're only preaching to the choir.

Ed, if you're reading this, I really hope you'll reply. Why are you providing a forum (even if it's only a minute) for furthering the lies and agenda of some of the most despicable people imaginable, whom you see fit to have on nightly?

1. It's their job to make us believe we're a divided country

2. Ed Schultz appears to be passionate about his beliefs.
If he wanted to make millions more than he does, all he'd have to do is start preaching Limbaugh/Beck views of "reality."

5. Republicans are why I don't watch Ed.
I've quit listening to anything Republicans say since they've collectively gone nuts. And I won't watch anyone who puts their fevered delusions on the tube...even if it's just to point out the obvious. The moment I see or hear Republican twaddle, I turn the channel or click the hand "off" button.

Neither should we be afraid. Every time they open their mouths he exposes their lies point by point.

7. I dont think it's his decision to make! I think he can request certain guests, but remember
he works for MSNBC. The only show I know of that doesn't have pro/con opinion guests is Countdown, and it sure looks like Keith has a lot of say there. Ed's the new kid on the block and most likely doesn't have a LOT of influence.

And still does.

That will have to suffice, I suppose, but I agree listening to their scurrilous spew is infuriating.

9. Schultz is MSNBC's Alan Colms
He either needs to learn to argue his positions better or he needs to be identified as an agent of the GOP.

He attracts liberal leaning viewers with his bombast, then routinely gets his ears pinned back by Repukes spouting standard talking points that an informed 8th grader could rebut.

10. I disagree completely.
This is what seperates Ed from Rush and Hannity - he is NOT afraid to air dissenting viewpoints and have an intelligent debate on the issues. He always ends up demolishing their arguments in the end, and this gives him far more credibility than the propagandists on the right who only have on people that agree with them.

It's not as if his show is dominated by Republicans anyway - most of his guests are on our side!

11. I think it is VERY important
that the Republican charges not remain unanswered.

They NEED to be answered so that they can be shown to be BS.

Thom Hartmann regularly has right wingers on.

It opens up the debate.

13. Republicans already have 24/7 on thousands of outlets
to get their views out. They don't need any of our tiny allotment of time to repeat the same things.

That is the key difference here.

12. I agree, absolutely -
There are times I simply turn Ed off - and I really like his show - rather than be forced to listen to the inane bleatings of those people for whom I have nothing but contempt.

Life is too short, and my time is too precious to waste it on people who are worthless. I wish Ed would snap out of it. I don't see a whole bunch of liberals being invited onto Fixed Noise shows and treated with the deference and respect that Ed accords his guests. I've seen O'Leilly virtually take a dump on people who didn't stick strictly to HIS party line. Ed is always a gentleman.

So, yes, they do have a place to spout their drivel. I don't see why it should be repeated on MSNBC.

Otherwise, his show is perfect. But he loses me. I mean, TOM TANCREDO?

I don't let people that stupid into my home, so why would I let them appear on my TVs?

15. Oh, but don't you know, people complain about Keith Olbermann
because he NEVER has anyone with an opposing opinion on his show, and all he does is preach to the choir. That must mean he's afraid to have them on his show. Or intellectually dishonest. :sarcasm:

Really, I'm with you. These people have plenty of other places to spew their crap. I don't see why Ed has to give them a forum in the name of "fairness."

19. Ed tries to give them a chance, just as Hartmann does, Rachel's begs them to come on her show.

"them" being the slimy republicans.

Do you really want Ed's show to be just like Fox, one-sided? Everyone bitches about Fox bullshit....what are you afraid of? The republicans have no arguments, no solutions only the say old shit, cut taxes (for the rich) that they fucked this country up for the past eight years, they lie and they come off sounding like liars & piles of greedy selfish assholes which they are....

Ed Schultz can usually hold his own and is always in the republicans face with their lies....Ed always has two Dems and one republican liar on his panel and himself to jump in the republicans spewing hate face.

Ed's show is so invaluable and the most liberal show of in-your-face journalism & commentary on television....Ed has no tolerance for the republican bullshit anymore...the worst I can say about Ed is sometimes he hasn't done his homework on stats & facts and is not as informed as he should be sometimes to bust the lying republicans....and the republican sometimes can slide by with their lies, but mostly the Dems on the daily panel picks up on it and kicks the republicans ass....

Ed is the one who kept public Option Health Care alive when if was fading fasr just as the republicans wanted and others including Olbermann & Maddow were begins o move on to sex scandals etc......It's the most important issue of our time and we've been trying for a century and this is the closest we've gotten and have to keep on pushing the powerful insurance corporations and the republican media machine...Thank you Ed for that

Ed is a loud liberal, yes, while so many complain that why don't the Dem's get tough with the republicans like republicans do yo Dems....then they haven't been watching or haven't seen The Ed Show on MSNBC 3:00 Pacific weekdays....Tape it Tivo it it's worth sitting back each nigh and playing it back...Ed can be a lion and usually is....He's surprised the fuck out of me....

I always thought Ed was this radio moderate who didn't want to offend either side...UNTRUE - He the best with the most fire....there's always the fucking moderates who'll say oh gee he's too loud for me...fucking wimpy little whiners.....Ed show is important if you don't watch he'll be gone and some republican will probably get a shot at the slot....would you like that better?

Fucking Dem's always find one little thing they don't like about a progressive and then say oh I can't watch or listen (like they do with Mike Malloy or Michael Moore) idiot fucks - one doesn't see republicans do they say about the little things they might not like about Hannity, Beck, O'Reilly, the Pigman, no, the republicans viewers & listeners overlook some petty dislike and they support these assholes completely and keep them on the air going strong........unfortunately.

And then the same people complain there's no liberals progressives on television...because the don't fucking watch for some petty reason or they have better things to do it's all republican...stupid fucks then look to yourselves the reason why....

Ed is giving us some great in-the- republicans-face 60 minutes every day...don't bitch about the small shit...he is after all trying to be fair, something the republicans never offer. Support The Ed Show - Simply watch to tape it to fit that schedule of yours, those numbers count too!

20. Well, Rachel has republicans on too. The only one who doesn't is Keith
for one thing I think they would refuse to go on his show. I don't mind having republicans on if the host will counter what they say and ask tough questions which I think Ed and Rachel do.

Ed is a registered Republican. He only does the "progressive" shtick because he's not right wing enough to get picked up by Clear Channel.

22. The thing about Ed that I love and respect is that he is unrelenting about
a public health option. There is no other Democrat who makes the case, night after night, that Ed does. He's a bulldog on this subject and will not let go. He'll denounce any politician, Democrat or Republican who is against it.

I didn't start this thread to denounce Ed. He's one of the best of the best. If only there were more Dems like him, we just might end up on the winning side of countless issues.

But, as others here have mentioned, why does he give a creature like Tom Tancredo one microsecond on his show? Tancredo is the best example I can think of that the human species is an evolutionary mistake.

23. Ed Schultz has the best in the gut emotional show on television, ever.
There are now and have been in the past plenty of intellectual liberal shows, with polite debate and exchanges. However, nothing like Schultz' show which is wonderful pure passion and adrenalin, it's very necessary for the many who are frustrated and need a great feeling in their soul.

Check it out.
