I thought we had gotten rid of him, but Gordon Smith is back.
"Former U.S. Sen. Gordon Smith, the Oregon Republican who in November lost his bid for reelection to Democrat Jeff Merkley, was on Friday named president and CEO of the National Association of Broadcasters.

“We conducted an exhaustive search to identify the very best individual to lead a great trade association,” NAB Joint Board Chairman Steve Newberry said in a press release. “We’re convinced we have found that person in Gordon Smith. His background as a lawyer, a statesman, and as an entrepreneur — coupled with his extensive knowledge of broadcast issues from having served many years on the Commerce Committee — make Gordon eminently qualified to represent the interests of free and local broadcasters in Washington.”

I heard him on the radio on the way home, and one of top priorities, according to him, is to make sure that nothing is done regarding the Fairness Doctrine.

He's a joke and I had hoped that by electing Merkley, Smith would just go away and count his millions. This is like the ultimate lobbyest. Control the media, control the country.
