Did anyone else notice Edward Kennedy Jr. say that he has lived in Mass for the past year to be
close to his father? that he purchased JFK's old house? He has established residency in Mass and I think he'd win an election there. Am I crazy to think that we have a shot at that?

1. He also said he had no interest in running
which is unfortunate, because none of the candidates that the media whores have mentioned thus far seem remotely worthy, other than Dukakis as an appointed placeholder (who probably wouldn't run in the eventual election either)

4. Obama said he wasn't running too.
He could change his mind just like our BO did. :hi:

20. I thought Dukakis had moved to Hawaii
Anyone who would leave Hawaii to live in Massachusetts obviously lacks the judgement to be senator.

2. I don't think he wants to run. Yet.
He has stated that he wants his children to be older before he considers all that is involved in serving in higher public office.

Ah, he should, of all people, know what he is getting himself and his family into. Maybe he might run at some point in the future, but I think he wants to spend time with his 11 and 15 year old kids now, while they are still at home.

I deeply respect that choice.

5. I got the sense he felt that someday he would -- a couple of
"when/if I run"s. I'm referring to KO's interview with him, was it yesterday? Are you guys talking about a different interview?

8. I saw one the day his father's book came out, but now
I can't remember who he did the interview with. I think it was CBS's "Sunday Morning". (but I could be wrong).

7. I deeply respect him, too, for putting his family first. Politics can be
brutal, especially with his name.

I hope he takes his time.

12. Barney said no (immediately, I think, after Teddy died)
He isn't interested.

I respect Ted Jr. wanting to spend this time with his kids - he won't get it back.

I really like Ted jr. But if he does not want to be a politician I don't blame him.

19.  I greatly respect the service the Kennedy family has given this country and if he wants a career...
in public office I would support him, however there are MANY fabulous people qualified for service whose last name isn't Kennedy. I'd like a new name like Coakley or Capuano.
