1. Thus is born a "Systeme of Harboring the Capital of Concerned Persons"... |
|
later to be shortened to "Capitalism": the practice of taking care of "Capital" above persons.
Capitalism is perhaps the greatest democracy-enabling system in history, but to keep it from becoming a tyranny of drunken excess, the voters, or consumers, or whatever anyone might call them, need to be actively defending, where the law is actually defined, the rights of actual human people against the power that has accrued to individuals by virtue of their wealth (which, incidentally, was earned within a lawful system maintained by public funds).
In other words, to anyone protesting a Public Option: Stay off the glorious public highways erected by our Republic, Republicans!

4. capitalism is anathemic to democracy. |

I don't know where you get the bizarre idea that capitalism helps democracy. If anything, capitalism enables fascism, its political twin. Democracy is most consistent with communism.

3. More people need to realize... |

...insurance companies (or any for-profit business for that matter) aren't in business to insure people. They're in business to make money.

And a small irony within: Today, some hospitals are using maggots to treat wounds again. Seems gross, to be sure, but the little devils are great at cleaning and disinfecting wounds. (Of course, they DO all have to be removed at the end of the process.)
