Carter is going with the "old stuff...King and the rest." We have a Supreme Court with a Racist Clarence Thomas. ...we have this...

I love Jimmy Carter...worked for him...but he doesn't understand that the RW has even corrupted King's Followers and all those who want opportunity.

Lloyd Marcus is using Opportunity! And so should the rest of us. It's a "Wake Up America." It's not about RACE or CLASS or TWO AMERICAS ...it's about FREEDOM TO HAVE INFLUENCE!

ENJOY. THIS GUY HAS TALENT! He's Musical Director for Fox News...He's ON A ROLL! But, he's a SICK USER! Not anything about Dr. King in this performance. He is an opportunist...but there are So Many.

2. It's about white christian male superiority, heterosexual male
more than just plain racism. Anybody who denies that prefers living in denial.

Again, I've got no clue what you're upset about. I think you are reading more into a couple of sentences than I said.

10. How would you characterize Lloyd Marcus's performance there?
Trashing Obama. The only Black Face in the crowd of White Folks. He's a darling of the "Tea-Baggers" having composed many anti-Obama Songs for them (Google: Lloyd Markus)there's many of his RW Compositions there on You Tube for your edification and enlightenment. :-(

7. "White" comes first, though. It's the first and most important
dividing line.

In terms of who is better than, higher on the totem pole than, more important than, white always trumps (>) :

White male > black male

White female > black female

Male > Female except

White female > black male.

White christian male > black christian male

White gay male > black straight male
("They" can justify this by asserting that "gay" is a choice, which means that white gay guy really could be a white straight guy if he wanted to, and therefore there's no contradiction. Of course a white straight guy is still > a white gay guy, but long as he's white, he's "better.")

Look at any combination you want, and as long as one is white and one is black, the white will always be perceived -- by "them" -- as superior, as more deserving, as more legitimate.

The wingnuts would've hated Hillary Clinton as president, but they would not have protested her legitimacy the way they are Obama's. She might be (in their view) a man-hating lesbian, but she's white. And that's all that really matters to them.

Whatever other aspects anyone brings in, ultimately it's all about race. Oh, they'll say it's about other things, but they're lying, even if they're lying to themselves. Their whole worldview is based on the assumption that white people rule. That worldview has been shaken to its very core and they just can't deal with it.

Most of them are southerners who grew up in a society that either was overtly segregated or was overtly resistant to desegregation. Some of them are victims of the "reagan democrat" ideology: people who were made to see people of color as threats to their livelihoods, while of course we all know that it was reagan's own anti-union policies that posed the real threat. And some are just people who were raised for some reason or other to believe white folks is best.

Obama can't address this directly, but he (or Axelrod or Emmanuel or someone) needs to get some heavy-hitting surrogates out there to counter the limbaugh spew of let's go back to segregated buses and segregated hotels and while we're at it let's just return to lynchings and. . . .well, you see what a slippery slope that is.

Obama attempted to address this with the response to the Rev. Wright crap, but it wasn't enough, and it didn't last long enough. Also, what he could do it as a candidate, he can't do as president, and the problem hasn't gone away. Race is still an issue in this country, and pretending it doesn't exist is not gonna solve it.

5. There have always existed people who hate themselves
They'll use themselves as causes to serve those who hate them the most. It's a form of masochism. Like a spouse that remains with an abuser.

6. What's worrysome ...is how do they attain power that the rest of us never have...
no matter how hard we work...walking streets for candidates, being engaged in our local politics, and faxing and phoning and doing everything we can to make change. But...in the end...this guy rides high..and we are out there not wanting to talk against him because he's an African-American...or some other group like "Irish-Catholic, etc" and yet he spreads his hate and ends up with Multi-Millions because he goes with a group who would be happy to see him swinging from the oak tree by his neck rather than give him or others the most basic rights in America.

This guy symbolizes ...like the Wall St. Thugs...what is so WRONG WITH AMERICA TODAY!

Not a black or brown face in that crowd ...but he's probably making millions...

15. I'd say he's a "theatrical guy"...song and dance and only way to make a living is to go Right Wing?
Those old Fred Astaire movies are "long in the tooth." What's a person of "talent" to do these days?

Go to the Right WING? What does that say? All creatives...to the back of the bus...unless you are Republican?

He's a "user" for sure...but what if he REALLY BELIEVES THIS SHIT? Then we got BIG PROBLEMS.

and the others. Folks who sell against their own...forgetting history who make money off being the "contrarian" that they use to sell and sell and sell. Carter remembers the time he lived in. He doesn't grasp the greed of the times we are in now.
