Email from Carol Shea-Porter, Congresswoman NH who is under attack by...well read it.
Dear ,

When I was elected in 2006 as the first Congresswoman from New Hampshire, I asked you to “watch my back” as I worked to move our country forward. The 110th Congress was able to create a new GI Bill, put more money into the VA than ever before in history to care for our vets, raise the minimum wage, pass the 9/11 Commission recommendations, make school loans more affordable, increase fuel efficiency, and pass environmental legislation, to name just a few of our accomplishments.

The 111th Congress has also been extremely busy. Congress passed the Credit Card Bill and increased health insurance coverage for children. The House has passed the Energy Bill and the Education Bill, and the Health Care Bill has been voted out of all three committees that have jurisdiction. From the beginning, I campaigned on a new direction for Education, Energy and Health Care, so it has been very rewarding to fight for education and for the Public Option on the Education and Labor Committee, and for the environment on the Natural Resources Committee. I also serve on the Armed Services Committee, where it is my honor to support our military men and women. I am a member of the Middle Class Caucus, and the Populist Caucus, working to create jobs and to help people weather these tough economic times.

I am proud of my record in Congress, but this past election only gave us the opportunity to win. We have not won all of the battles for Education, Health Care or Energy yet, but we must.

Please give $25, $50, or whatever you can, up to $2,400.00, today! Your contribution will help me continue to work “for the rest of us”.

Lately, I have come under the fiercest attacks I have ever experienced. I have Fox News, the National Republican Congressional Committee, the NH GOP, the Tea Party protesters, the Birthers, the Deathers, Glenn Beck’s 9/12ers, the Tenthers, and the Susan B. Anthony anti-choice group attacking me to name just a few. They have shouted at town halls and on radio interviews, and are writing ugly, untrue letters. Media Matters and others challenged Fox News and these other groups to tell the truth but I also need your financial help to fight back.

Please give $25, $50, or whatever you can up to $2,400 today! Your contribution will help me continue to work “for the rest of us”.

I will not be silenced. I will not be intimidated. When I first ran for Congress in 2006, I promised you that I would speak up for the rest of us, I said I was running "for the rest of us".

Please give $25, $50 or whatever you can up to $2,400 today so I can continue to work "for the rest of us".

I do not take business PAC or DC lobbyist money so I am counting on you to help me. I know the economy is tough, but your contribution is your investment in a better future.

Thank you for stepping up and helping me, and for "watching my back". Together we can keep moving America forward.

Best Wishes,

P.S. Please forward this e-mail to all your friends and ask them to help fight back against Fox News and the other groups. Show Fox News and others the truth DOES matter.

2. Thanks
Carol is a real fighter for our side and a good person. She is a congresswoman who visits her districts constantly letting her constituents know exactly where she stands and listens to them.

3. Carol's wonderful- I think I'll contribute
to her, instead of P. Hodes, who is my congressman- (he's going to run for Gregg's seat).

I really admire her- and wish I were in her district. She's an EXCELLENT Rep.-

thanks for posting this.

4. Hodes is an awesome congressman.
I saw him speak at an Obama event in Dover in 2008 and he was fantastic.

6. I've been disapointed in some of his decisions-
like his recent NO vote on rebuking Wilson- he sometimes seems to ...posture...a bit more than I'd like- but I voted and campaigned for him and was glad when he got in. Carol's got a very clear, reliable voice- that for some reason just resonates strongly with me. I was SO glad when she beat Bradley.

8. She is incredible. I was at a Carol houe gathering when congress was
deciding to vote for the bail out. She got so emotional over it, I thought she was going to cry. I just love her. I wish I was living in NH so I could help her, but this is the best I can do, post the email here. I hope it works for her.

9. So who the fuck are the "tenthers"
And the "Susan B. Anthony antichoicers"?

Boy, whoever it was who said irony was dead was way premature.

11. Jebus. You'd think they'd run out of crazy at some point.
They must shop at the same store where the Flat-earth Society and Black Helicopter brigades get their material.

13. Any chance of setting up an independent homeland for these goniffs
(I'd offer 'em Mississippi in a heartbeat) where they can all go to live solely among those who agree with them and leave the rest of us alone?
