last week. It was an urgency bill so it needed a 2/3 majority and the repubs in the senate blocked it for politics, not on the merits of the bill. The amount of safe houses that have closed since the governator eliminated the battered women's shelter program with his veto has doubled since July.
Some of you had asked me for an update so there it is. Depressing as hell. We go back at it in January with a new bill. By then of course, half a fiscal year will have gone by.

when push came to shove they didn't get some of their amendments added to another urgency bill so they blocked all urgency bills requiring a 2/3 majority, including the one for us.
