"A Face in the Crowd" on TCM. What a great film. |

Keith Olbermann refers to Glenn Beck as "Lonesome Rhoades". Rhoades is the main character in this film, which is a scary tale of false populism. Worth seeing.

a great movie and loaded with examples of how people can be manipulated. Plus to me, it showed that Andy Griffith had some range as an actor.

3. Watching it now. It's one of my favorites. |

I really love the combination of narcissism and manipulated populism. Rhodes' inevitable breakdown is a thing to behold.

I just couldn't recall if she blinked... it's a great film and I'll try to get it from my library or catch it next time it's on TCM.

It's scary how much Lonesome Rhoades mirrors today's right wing rabble rousers. Andy Griffith (a loyal, life-long Democrat btw) was incredible.

And his comedic performance in No Time For Sargeants was good, too. Good actor.
