in order to survive - what's hilarious is that they don't bother to change their names (even when the old name no longer makes any sense). The History Channel has such a rich amount of actual history that they *could* feature. It had the potential to be the most fascinating channels on cable.

Instead, it's Hitler and mysticism and crap history like their segment in which they claimed LBJ killed Kennedy (which actual historians protested so mightily that they had to convene a 'discussion panel' after airing this humiliation).

PBS does such an amazing job with American Experience - their program on Emma Goldman was riveting - and it makes you realize what a dumb lost opportunity the History Channel is. They should flush it and start over, because there ain't no there, there.

What is maddening is that at times they have some of their crap with some truth in there... like when they did the Anneverde programs on the search of origins in Nazi Germany. That happened... it was their take that had quite a bit of creative licenses.
