Church Builds Home for Florida Family in FEMA Trailer for 5 Years

WEST PALM BEACH, FL--Pat Encinosa looks at the beginning stages of his new home and can't believe the day is finally here.

Tired of waiting on the insurance company, members of the United Methodist Church of the Palm Beaches last month began building the Encinosa family a home on the property of their old home in West Palm Beach.

"Today we have members of the youth group filling dirt," Encinosa said. "Other members said they'd put the walls up, some would do the painting, even the wall treatments."

Encinosa, his wife and four children have spent the past five years in a FEMA trailer on the property where their old home stood.
