"Don't care what you write about me, just be sure to spell my name right". |
|
I'm not sure who to credit for that old bit of PR wisdom, but it does seem to ring true, for the most part. Another way to say it is "Any publicity is good publicity" or "Better to be criticized than ignored".
Is there ANY doubt that this is the attitude of diseased working girls like Beck and Limbaugh? And, do we not aid, abet and enable them by even acknowledging that they are players? When we "rip them a new one", here, on other boards or in LTEs, do we not inflate these otherwise empty bags of skin? Doesn't even harsh and totally justified criticism serve only to enlarge them, to make them seem more than they could ever hope to be?
Yes, I know that this post is "about" them and can be seen as doing exactly what I'm suggesting should not be done, but I don't know how to convey this thought in any other way: as much as possible, let's just IGNORE these suppurating pustules on the buttocks of the republic. They are primarily preaching to their own choir of haters. The few who may actually be persuaded by their nonsensical rants can surely be reached by determined progressives who, after all, have a much better product to sell.
Let's just refuse to comment on or discuss you know who and what's his name.

1. I'm not a believer in the "ignore a problem, and it will go away" theory. |

3. Can we not insult prostitutes who don't have health care by comparing them to Limbaugh & Beck? |
|
A lot of those "diseased working girls" have been sold or kidnapped into sex slavery and have no way out. It's horrific problem.

4. Clubbing out the brains of cute baby harp seals for their pristine fur is also a "horrific problem" |
|
but neither slaughterd seal pups or kidnapped sex slaves have much relevance to my post. I DO agree that a prostitute could indeed take offense at being compared to these two. I apologize to any sex workers reading this post.

5. Your apology to sex workers has been noted |

There has to be something else you can compare these guys to. How about cockroach infested apartments? That's really ugly.

6. My sincere apologies to sex workers; |
|
I did not mean to tread into a rude belittlement;
just reacting to the unexpected word-play.
Thanks for the perspective.
