Biden says the objectie is to defeat Al Qaida |
|
ok... that might very well be doable. Kill the leadership, call victory and go home.
I am almost smelling it... this is the beginning of a tug of war...between the right and the left. Ironically that was supposed to be the war objective, something 'bout a poster in the West.

5. Actually there IS an Al Qaida, we created it in the 1980s |
|
that is very true. It is classic blowback.
Use a little nuance.

4. Al Qaida is gone .. the Taliban remain and they are home. This war is over. |
|
Taliban will garner support from the outer region populations by portraying the US as an occupying force.
The Afghans have been dealing with occupiers for a long time.

6. This is not about there, it is about here |
|
so you kill the leadership of Al Qaida, declare victory and go home with the goals of the mission met.
Never mind we could have done that eight years ago at Tora Bora... something about the ISI comes to mind, and orders from very high up... in DoD... as in SecDef high.
I smell this is what they'd like to do.
I mean WE WON... even if we didn't...

8. Is the public really on the same page as government officials? |
|
Edited on Mon Sep-21-09 10:35 PM by noise
For example look at the health care debate. It's obvious the public option is the best deal for the public but the debate in D.C. isn't about what is best for the public. Special interests rule. So it seems this applies in D.C. across the board. Another example--Iraq. One only need watch No End in Sight to realize something is very off in D.C.
How about some honesty from Biden? I know we are supposed to be properly manipulated by the Beck/nutball/con artist BS and rally to support "our side" but it doesn't work. The Bush years revealed too many tricks.
