freepathons cotinue to drag

There was a thread not long ago about the freepathons and how they now seem to be taking over the year. Here is the thread:

I waded back into the filth in order to determine when this latest snail-a-thon ended and found that they finally finished it September 1st. They included an anti-tax tea-bagging caravan thing with this freepathon, but it didn't seem to speed donations. I find these numbers to be bad news all the way around. They're bad news for those who hope for reason and sanity simply because free republic should NEVER be able to meet their goals (I am taking their word for it that they did actually meet the goal...which could be a mistake). It is depressing that a screwball site like that could get $80000 donated in a decade, much less in three months. However, the bad news for Robinson is that these things are taking longer and longer. At this pace, freepers can expect their insane-a-thons to last 2/3 of the year, or more. Next quarter will be interesting as the last quarter of the year tends to get them more money due to elections. On the other hand, November 2009 will be mostly local issue elections, and these don't tend to fire people up as much...or help them to crack open their wallets.

if Skinner and Elad and co. spent some of the money sunning their butts in the Bahamas I would not care as long as this site keeps evolving the way it has - they've done a spectacular job :thumbsup:

I'm assuming they are selling their furniture and upholstering their ammo crates, 'cux lord knows the ammo shelves are still pretty bare.
