1. They advertised their own stupidity on national TV and lots of people were |
|
impressed, but not favorably.
Who would want to be identified with a group like that anyway?

2. I'm not convinced they had any "momentum", to begin with. |
|
They had a highly paid cable network mouthpiece flogging their idiotic rally for MONTHS, and they got- what- 30,000 people?
Contrast that with the hundreds of thousands who showed up to all the anti-Iraq War protests. Or contrast that with the fact that, in April of 2004, with virtually no publicity, Planned Parenthood and NARAL got 1.2 Million people to march in DC (which the media promptly ignored) ... the bottom line is, the "teabaggers" have never represented anything except a serious fringe element.

We had 106,000 at the OSU-USC game here in Columbus on the same day. And that drew mostly from central Ohio, whereas the Klan rally drew from the whole nation!

Obama's secret police should have rounded them all up and placed them in the FEMA internment camps while he had the chance and they were gathered in one place!

5. I hope you're right. Certainly obese, white moron-Americans . . . |
|
Were represented out of proportion to their percentage of the population.
I hope.

10. I'm overweight myself. It's my own doing -- with a little more discipline . . . |
|
I could be in the healthy range for my age. My lack of discipline increases my risk for a variety of ailments associated with middle age. I will be a greater burden on the health care system than would otherwise be the case.
I'm not fat prejudiced, but I'm also not going to give anyone a free pass on a condition that is susceptible to correction by the individual. However, since my own experience shows that correction to be very difficult to achieve, I acknowledge that improved funding of health care is an absolute necessity as the people of my generation move into our high-healthcare-need years.
What's the excuse of those people in the same condition I am for insisting that the current, unsustainable, ghoul-feeding, ineffective system be protected from reform?
