ACORN: I got an e-mail from my rep yesterday bragging
about how he co-sponsored a bill to de-fund ACORN. Here's an excerpt from Vern Ehlers (R-MI Bible Belt):
----------
Dear Friend,

Last week, I co-sponsored a bill, which the House passed, to stop sending federal funds to the organization “Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now” (ACORN). The group is accused of, and has been captured on audio and video tapes engaging in, several unethical and illegal activities.

I became concerned about the organization’s activities after allegations and media reports of voter fraud against ACORN during the 2008 Presidential Election. I joined my colleagues in the House of Representatives in urging the Department of Justice to investigate this issue, and for the House to hold hearings to find out more.
---------
blah, blah, blah, snip, snip, snip...

I fired an e-mail back to the old man wondering where his "deep concern" was when billions were being pissed away on Halliburton, KBR, and Blackwater, among others in Iraq. They wasted more money than ACORN could have ever hoped to spend. I don't recall receiving any e-mails from him expressing concern over THAT grotesque bit of business. Of course, it could have had something to do with the Dutch Mafia in Holland and the Erik Prince/Amway/DeVos connection.:puke: :puke: :puke:

I'm not holding my breath waiting for a reply. That old goat needs to be put out to pasture... :eyes:

2. It was the scammers who brought up prostitution.
ACORN has nothing to with that.

It's not like they went undercover and caught ACORN worker talking to each other about promoting prostitution.

Hannah Giles told Juan Vera she needed help protecting girls from a pimp. She said, "I wanna get them before the pimp"

3. How can he say "the group"?

It was one employee that they finally managed to ensnare after several attempts in several cities.

And if the truth be known, if he is concerned with "unethical and illegal activities", it was a FauxNoise conspiracy.

5. Because he's a Republican jackass
who's just as evil and corrupt as the rest of them, even if he did claim to oppose drilling in ANWR. :patriot: :puke:

4. Bill of attainder
If ACORN is de-funded, they can take it to court.
