When is torture justified?
I thought torture was something that was never condoned, especially by progressives. I've noticed some crimes though that always seem to have people calling for torturing the perpetrator whether or not they've even been convicted. Such as:

- hurting / killing an animal
- hurting / killing a child

For what other crimes do you think torture is justified?

3. Well, back in 1980 my new girlfriend talked me into going to a Barry Manilow concert.
That was torture, but I considered it justified.

32. No, but I did sulk through the whole thing.
I mean, the guy only has four songs - different names, a few different words, same chords, same songs. Somebody explain to me why he was even on the radio!

8. LOL
It sounds like Zombie needs to be a little more L33T. Don;t get dead, and you don't have to worry about spawn campers.

Just out of curiosity, what game?

9. I think it would only be
justified in the most extreme possible of situations, basically if someone absolutely, positively knows a nuke is about to go off in some downtown and a tight lipped someone knows where it is. That is the only time I think it could be considered justified given the extreme rareness of the situation. Of course, such an episode of "24" like situation, despite what the Bush torture apologists might say, is not happening every other weekend. So for 99.9 percent of the rest of time torture is not justified.

Then you can torture whoever you like. Particularly if you're the good guys. Good guys can do what they want. It's only bad guys that aren't allowed to do bad things.

15. When you're also willing to go to jail or face execution for committing the torture.
But that only counts if you turn yourself in and plead guilty.

24. If a persons life is hanging in the balance and torture of the perpetrator -
- would bring them home safe, then I've no problem with it. Do what it takes to bring them home safe, IMO.

28. None.
Torture is never justified.

This should not be confused with causing injury or even death if it is necessary to stop a crime in progress.
